NEW BRITAIN — Polamer Precision, Inc. has been honored for its hard work and contributions to Connecticut’s manufacturing industry, and commitment to the development, achievement and well-being of its employees.
U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy has named the local manufacturer a “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer,” recognizing it for outstanding contributions to the state.
Polamer Precision, Inc. is a contract aerospace manufacturing firm that produces high quality engine and airframe components for customers worldwide. The company combines its engineering capabilities with the latest technologies to ensure mistake-free processes, timely delivery, cost-efficiency and high standards. A preferred vendor to Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, Polamer’s customers also include GE Aviation and Samsung Industries. Polamer’s products are used on the most advanced military and commercial aircraft.
After the company’s inception in 1997 in Newington, it operated out of a 2,000 square foot manufacturing space and employed a handful of workers. Years of continued growth and expansion followed. Polamer currently employs 83 workers and is planning a move to a 152,000 square foot, world-class manufacturing facility in New Britain. As part of the company’s dedication to green building practices, the new facility will be home to the state’s largest industrial solar power generation system. This new facility makes Polamer the second largest privately held owner of manufacturing real estate in New Britain, and the second largest private investment over the past 10 years. By 2016, Polamer expects to expand to 140 employees.
“There’s no question that Polamer Precision is committed to providing their clients with world-class service and superior products,” said Murphy. “But, what makes Polamer so outstanding is they are just as committed to providing this same, exceptional level of care and service to their employees. Polamer clearly understands the direct correlation between providing meaningful employment and making their customers happy.”
Bill Carroll, business development director for the city of New Britain, thanked Murphy for his interest in local manufacturing.
“The city is extremely proud of Polamer and its vision,” Carroll said. “We [the City] have been working with the company for the last three years. The Senator is astute in understanding the manufacturing technology Polamer provides and that it’s another showcase for the city’s continued business progress.”
